My thoughts and prayers go to the victims of the horrific events of 11 September 2001, their families and friends, the people of New York City and Washington, DC.

When I was in New York in August, I saw the twin towers and admired their massive grace and beauty. Never in my wildest imaginings could I begin to think they might ever be destroyed or that thousands of people would perish with them.

I am rarely at a loss for words, but I am here, so I will close by encouraging readers to tell your family and friends how much you love them.
